Bio

Henrietta "Etta" was born in the picturesque countryside of Denmark, into a musical family.

She grew up with the vibes of Aretha Franklin, Jimmi Hendrix and The Beatles.

Etta’s father was a guitarist in a popular Danish dance band in the seventies and he passed on his love of music to his daughter at a very early age.

She was only 3 years old when he realised that she could sing perfectly in tune.

At 13 years old, Etta was already singing in  local youth bands and began playing at youth music festivals and clubs around the region.

After finishing high school, she left Denmark for France where she quickly connected with different musicians, playing in clubs and at famous music events like the Fête de la Musique.

It was love which brought her to Switzerland in the mid nineties and she decided to settle there.

Her powerful soulful voice and her stage presence soon caught the attention of the Swiss music scene. Be it as lead singer (Killer Bees, Soul 'n' Stuff, Three For The Blues) or as backing vocalist (Terry And The Hot Sox, Wanda Jackson, Big Al Downing, Chris Montez, Linda Gail Lewis) and on events like the Blue Balls Festival.

In 2005 she left with her husband for Singapore, starting yet another chapter of life abroad, that would last a decade. Asia awakened a dormant and unknown side of musicality in Etta and inspired her to start writing and composing songs herself. Now, back in Switzerland, the many experiences made,  new creative ideas flow into her singer/songwriter project.
